Did you know that back pain is one of the leading causes of absenteeism from the workplace? Approximately 1 in 6 Australians will suffer back pain in a year. It may impact our ability to walk, sit, lay down, sleep, not to mention our ability to function optimally at work and at home.

Back Pain may be caused by insufficient strength in the spine due to impaired core strength, excess weight, poor posture, sitting for long periods of time, lack of physical activity, poor mobility, hereditary conditions or diseases, injury or inflammation due to a number of reasons including diet and stressors.

The OMC incorporates MedX equipment along with functional exercises to build strength, increase power, mobility, flexibility, agility, endurance, reduce pain and prevent further injury. I have started Arakan a year ago when I turned 50 in order to get fit and healthy and have found it to be one of the most rewarding things I have done. I have never been a fighter and have found the skills that they teach at times challenging, but it is always done in an environment were you feel safe, even though you may be out side your comfort zone. All the instructors and other students are supportive and encouraging regardless of the level you are at. I find it fantastic and after only a year i do feel more confident and focused. i would recommend it to anyone to give it a go
