Ladies Self Defence

Ladies Self Defence

In this day and age, the unfortunate truth is that it is necessary for all ladies to prepare themselves, and acquire the skills to defend themselves from would be attackers. Ladies self defence skills need to be taken on by both young and old, as crime does not discriminate.

Ladies self defence training needs to be practical, simple, highly effective, and applicable in a variety of real life situations and not necessarily in the context of a ring competition. This entails using your physical size and structure to your full advantage, maximizing your speed and power. You must also learn to use your attacker’s momentum against themselves together with highly effective strikes and deflections which works with momentum (rather than opposing strength) to ward off or incapacitate your attacker.

The style of self defense chosen must be provided by an experienced instructor, who is patient in teaching you the skills and passing on knowledge necessary for defend yourself.

These skills need to be learnt, and developed on an ongoing basis, to be able to utilise the acquired skills in a self defence situation, a real investment in time and training must be made.

A six week once off course (for example) may be a great way to begin your journey toward empowerment and teach you some basic skills. However in a real life pressure situation, only a serious investment in developing the knowledge, confidence and skills to defend yourself effectively may achieve the desired result.

The sad truth is that some ladies decide to take Self Defence lessons after a traumatic event. Prevention is better than cure, so please take the first step today ladies, and prepare, and empower yourselves with the confidence and skills to effectively protect yourself.
