Phoenix began his Arakan journey at age two, mentored by his father, Chief Instructor Robert Kyaw. With over 16 years of training, Phoenix has gained not only self-defence skills but also discipline, motivation, and many other life principles.
Despite multiple academic achievements and high-level university offers, he chose to pursue his passion for teaching Arakan after graduating high school in 2023. Honoured as Arakan's youngest instructor, Phoenix's strength and athleticism earned him the ‘Outstanding Athlete’ award in his first year of teaching, a recognition he received nationwide.
He enjoys extreme sports like mountain biking, drawing on his experience as an elite swimmer and runner, and is committed to self-improvement through time spent in the gym and outdoors. A proficient guitarist, singer, and songwriter for 14 years, Phoenix values consistency and resilience in mastering any skill.
Phoenix loves being young, upbeat, and a ‘guy’s guy’ at heart. He creates a supportive, encouraging environment for students of all ages and abilities, helping them learn and build meaningful connections. Passionate about empowering others, especially in tough times, Phoenix aims to honour his Burmese heritage by passing down his knowledge.
